Acclaim Energy Advisors

Acclaim History

In 2001 John D. Elder, III established a unique, nonprofit organization to assist senior managers displaced by Enron’s collapse to help the city retain the intellectual capital. Known as the Resource Alliance Group (RAG), John solicited the help of numerous business leaders from across key industries, including the finance community to help fund new entities.

From nonprofit to profit

During John’s work with the (RAG) it exposed him to the potential within the Texas deregulated energy environment. And, after careful due diligence, he invited a group of seasoned energy advisors — many of whom are still involved in the business today — to help develop a business model that would put energy expertise and technology traditionally reserved for major corporations on the side of medium to large businesses.

The model validated

The new company began operations in 2003 as LEGACY Energy Solutions, LLC, with three volunteers, one product — Bill Verification — and a relentless passion to succeed and serve. After twelve months, the business model was validated, initial versions of the current technology were completed, and scalable processes had been defined.

Pushing forward

Today, Acclaim offers a full suite of energy management solutions driven by proprietary software, cutting-edge technology and superior industry and market expertise. The company takes pride in providing customers with the information and services they need to control energy spend by reducing utility costs, risk, and improving energy efficiency. Every organization is different, so strategies are tailored from fully integrated programs to a la carte services that reduce usage, costs and emissions.
